LORD Corp. recently announced it is celebrating 90 years in business. Initially employing a staff of six, the company now has more than 3,000 employees in 26 countries. Building on the founders’ core beliefs in innovation, employee safety and well-being, integrity, and ethical behavior, the company collaborates with its customers to improve the performance of their products and commercialize groundbreaking technologies.
LORD reportedly has a rich history of innovation. The company was founded in 1924 when patent attorney Hugh Lord invented a solution to quiet squeaking automobiles that traveled in front of his office on the streets of Erie, Pa. Over time, the company’s resiliency is accredited to the market penetration of many industries, global expansion and acquisition of new technologies.
“This year marks a milestone of innovation and collaboration thanks to the ideas of those who came before us, and the innovative and collaborative spirit of those who continue to keep us in the forefront of all we do,” said Ed Auslander, CEO. “Our success depends on how well we continue to practice our core beliefs and ensure that we protect the ‘DNA’ of LORD. At the same time, we must challenge ourselves to evolve, take on new challenges and always move forward.”
