A new coupling agent is intended for use in polypropylene glass fiber compounds. SCONA TPPP 9212 is characterized by its very high content of chemically bonded maleic anhydride (MA). The MA groups of this coupling agent react with the amino groups of the silane of the glass fiber size, thereby reportedly producing a very stable structure. The 1.8% MA content can enable improvement in the compounds’ mechanical properties, even with a low dosage.
