Arkema recently announced that Richard Rowe has been appointed CEO of Arkema Inc., the group’s North America operations. Rowe succeeds Bernard Roche, CEO since 2008, who is retiring after 42 years with the Arkema organization. Rowe most recently served as global group president of Arkema’s fluorochemicals business unit.
Roche reportedly led the organization in the U.S. with many significant achievements. In particular, he successfully brought his contribution to the integration of key acquisitions, supported the expansion of several product lines, including the acrylics production in Texas, and established a program to enhance operational excellence in the Americas.
“The company has made outstanding progress under Bernard’s leadership,” said Rowe. “He increased our competitiveness, significantly improved our safety performance, and developed a clear focus on talent acquisition and development. I intend to build on his successes, continue his emphasis on safety and competitiveness, and further strengthen the organization.”
