DRT recently announced it has purchased land in Georgia, reportedly marking the first step of its move into the U.S.
The company reportedly intends to build a new sulfate turpentine bio refinery and terpene derivatives production unit on the land, which is located in Effingham County, Ga. Operation of the new unit is expected to take place during the first half of 2017.
The new production unit will reportedly enable DRT to distill sulfate turpentine sourced locally in the U.S., free up its own refinery capacity at its French plant of Vielle-Saint-Girons, better serve its existing markets, and develop new products.
