Dow Corning recently announced that the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) has named its 3363 insulating glass sealant as a finalist in the 2016 IChemE Global Awards in the award’s Energy category. IChemE nominees reportedly are evaluated on originality; innovation; evidence of potential or achieved technical and/or business success; environmental benefits; impact on stakeholders; and potential for wider application.

IChemE reportedly recognizes the best project or process to demonstrate innovation in renewable, alternative, or nuclear energy, efficient energy use or the development of energy production methods that reduce energy intensity.

“This is excellent recognition of Dow Corning’s ability to delivery innovation to our customers who are seeking to build high performing buildings across the globe,” said Jean Paul Hautekeer, global strategic market manager. “This unique silicone-based product enables economic and energy efficient designs in demanding facades that also want architecturally unique designs.”

The IChemE Global Award winners will be announced on November 3.
