From April 3-6, exhibitors, industry members and experts will travel to Nuremberg, Germany, to attend the European Coatings Show (ECS). The event will feature seven exhibition halls, multiple conference sessions, a keynote speaker, and two networking events.
Exhibition
The ECS will host over 900 exhibitors across seven different halls, showcasing the latest technology, equipment, and raw materials for coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants, and construction chemicals. The exhibition will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 4-5, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 6.
Halls 1, 4, 4A, 7, and 7A will hold companies pertaining to coating, ink and adhesive raw materials; intermediates for construction chemicals; and services. Halls 5 and 6 will host laboratory, production, and testing and measuring equipment; application, environmental protection and safety at work; and services.
Conference and Networking Events
The conference portion of ECS will be hosted April 2-4, including pre-conference tutorials on Sunday, April 2. Ten pre-conference tutorials, being held from 3-6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, will be offered on various topics, including functional coatings, polyurethane coatings, radiation curing, and biocides and legislation. The pre-conference tutorials are considered a separate event from the conference. Pre-registration is required as seating is limited.
Also on Sunday, a welcome get-together is scheduled for all conference delegates at 7 p.m. at the city center of Nuremburg, featuring traditional Franconian food and drink. Shuttles from the exhibition grounds will be available for pre-conference tutorial attendees.
On Monday, April 3, 12 co-current sessions will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (scroll down to see the see full schedule of sessions below), to be followed by an after-work reception being held in the St. Petersburg foyer. Also on Monday, the keynote speaker, Renaud Nicolaÿ, will give his presentation on dynamic covalent chemistries, and the ECS Award, along with 2,000 in prize money, will be granted during the plenary session before sessions from
8:30-9:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, will host 11 more co-current sessions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Stay Connected During ECS
The ESC will be offering several ways to stay virtually connected to everything pertaining to the conference, including a Twitter feed and hashtag, a mobile app, and live streams of select sessions and highlight events. The app (available for iOS and Android) features a full list of exhibitors, an interactive floor plan, a schedule of product presentations, and a complete conference schedule—including abstracts and presenters’ CV. In addition, a personalized section can help attendees keep track of favorite exhibitors, presentations, and contacts; find visitors and exhibitors with similar interests; and have ECS news streamed directly to their device.
Several key events will also be hosted online via live video stream, including the plenary session on Monday; the European Coatings Show Innovation Slam from 2:30-3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5; and the ECS 2017 Wrap-Up panel discussion, from 2:30-3 p.m. on Thursday, April 6. Five of this year’s conference sessions will also be available online via live stream: sessions 1 and 8 on Monday, and sessions 15, 18, and 22 on Tuesday. ASI
