This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Pressure Sensitive Tape Council’s (PSTC) Tape Summit, which is scheduled to take place May 15-19 in Las Vegas, Nev. The annual event provides industry professionals opportunities to build their pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape knowledge base.
Tape Summit Classes
On May 15-16, two educational classes will be offered that cover PSA tape design and manufacture. “Adhesives and Advanced Technology of PSA Tapes” is intended for technical professionals and contains the greatest amount of detail within the PSTC’s tape classes. “Fundamentals of PSA Tape” is suitable for sales and customer service staff, as well as entry-level technical employees and those who are new to the tape industry in any field of work.
Regulatory Summit
Taking place from 7 a.m.-12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, the Regulatory Summit intends to provide relevant information focused on policies, regulations, and laws that impact both businesses and the PSA tape industry as a whole. Speakers will address Prop 65, exposure testing, lifecycle assessment, environmental regulations, and more.
PSTC Spring Membership Meeting
The Spring Membership Meeting (for PSTC members only) begins at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, and includes updates on industry trends, as well as new PSTC initiatives and programs. The evening wraps up at the Volunteer Appreciation dinner that night.
In addition, meeting delegates are invited to attend the TECH 40 Welcome Reception on the evening of May 16.
Spring Meeting Keynote
On Wednesday, May 17, one of the country’s most informed economists, Brian Beaulieu, will present the morning keynote. Beaulieu has served as CEO of ITR Economics™ since 1987, where he researches the use of business cycle analysis and economic forecasts to increase profitability.
TECH 40
From May 17-19, TECH 40 provides delegates with knowledge that is immediately applicable to PSA companies. This seminar provides information on innovations, applications, sustainability and global issues that impact the PSA tape industry. All tape industry professionals can benefit from the conference.
Exhibitor Showcase
The exhibitor showcase, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 17, includes lunch from noon-2 p.m., followed by an exhibitor showcase reception and poster session from 3:30-5:30 p.m. See sidebar for a current exhibitor list. ASI

Industry Mourns Former PSTC Director Anderson
Glen Anderson, former PSTC executive director and Hall of Fame member, has died after a long battle with cancer. He passed away on March 10.
Anderson was PSTC’s executive president from 1982-2012. After his retirement in 2012, the Technical Seminar’s Opening Session was named the Glen Anderson Opening Session to honor his commitment and dedication to PSTC. His passion, vision and enthusiasm were reportedly instrumental to PSTC’s success today.
