At the last American Coatings Show event in 2016, more than 9,100 industry attendees and 559 exhibitors shared knowledge about recent developments in raw materials, laboratory and production equipment, testing and measuring equipment, and services for the coatings industry. This year, the 2018 American Coatings Show and Conference will bring together industry experts in the coatings industry from April 9-11 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
Exhibition
The American Coatings Show exhibition floor will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on April 9-10, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on April 11. This year, more than 580 exhibitors are anticipated to demonstrate their newest products and developments in raw materials, laboratory, production, packaging, and testing and measuring equipment, environmental protection and workplace safety, and industry services
(see pp. 22-26 for a full list of exhibitors and booth numbers).
Conference
The American Coatings Conference will coincide with the Coatings Show from April 9-11. On Monday, April 9, 10 pre-conference tutorials are scheduled to provide attendees with foundational insights and updates on major issues in the coatings industry. Academic experts and industry professionals will give tutorials and lectures on topics such as rheology, anticorrosive coatings, waterborne high-performance coatings, functional films, radiation curing, and more.
Along with ample networking opportunities, 16 conference sessions will allow industry and academia experts to present the latest innovations and findings. As in the previous conferences, four parallel tracks will be featured. Session topics include: “Science Today―Coatings Tomorrow,” “Wood Coatings,” “Functional and Smart Coatings,” “Grinding and Dispersing,” “Architectural Coatings I and II,” “Polyurethanes I and II,” “Radiation Curing, Measuring and Testing,” “Protective Coatings,” “Novel Materials, Biobased Coatings,” and “Bio-Fouling and Microbial Protection,” among others. Other conference highlights include: the newly extended Poster Session, which will be held on the first day of the conference; a designated student section, covering current academic research; the Mattiello Lecture, themed “Rheological and Colloidal Aspects of Latex-Associative Thickener Formulations: Overcoming the Remaining Challenges;” and the Plenary Session, where the American Coatings Award will be presented.
