Chances are pretty good that you’re not losing sleep thinking about pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape. But the fact is, PSA tape is everywhere—and the more you know about it, the better armed you will be. The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council’s annual Tape Summit can provide such learning and knowledge-building opportunities. Scheduled for May 7-11 in Minneapolis, the event draws PSA tape professionals including scientists, professors, CEOs and VPs from across the U.S. The Agenda can be found below.

The event offers two educational courses that cover all aspects of PSA tape design and manufacturing: Fundamentals of PSA Tapes and Adhesives and Advanced Technologies. These classes are suitable for anyone making or selling tape products, as well as scientists and engineers. Both classes are taught by a small group of dedicated faculty who strive to create an interactive and open atmosphere for each course.

The Tape Summit also features its annual technical seminar, which provides presentations of technical information about PSA tape to a public forum. TECH 41 will feature newly categorized presentation topics, including papers from global academic leaders in pressure-sensitive technology and fundamental science, novel pressure-sensitive raw materials and adhesives, intellectual property considerations of pressure-sensitive tapes, and papers from industry leaders in applications of PSAs in a variety of end-use markets. The industry-focused presentations include those from the building and construction arena, which was identified in the PSTC’s recently released Phase II of its research report, “Maximizing Usage of Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Tape in the Construction Vertical.” The report identifies the building and construction industry as an area of growth for usage of PSA tapes. This specific track is designed to help building and construction professionals better understand the variety of PSA tape solutions that are available and offer a greater compatibility with building materials.

Face-to-face networking opportunities will allow attendees to meet with customers and suppliers. The Exhibitor Showcase (see sidebar, below) puts attendees in front of nearly 50 exhibitors displaying their latest products and innovations. Eight of these exhibitors will also participate in the Innovative Poster Session, which provides additional education information about company projects.  ASI
