Terra Firma recently announced that it has been appointed distributor by SE Tylose for construction and industrial specialty markets throughout the continental U.S. A subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical, SE Tylose is based in Wiesbaden, Germany. The company produces 65,000 tons of cellulose ethers annually under the registered trademark Tylose® for customers worldwide.
These water-soluble cellulose ethers are reportedly used in applications such as construction and coating materials. The company’s product portfolio comprises methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (MHEC), methyl hydroxypropyl cellulose (MHPC), and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), along with the starch ether and surfactant additives for dry mortars.
“SE Tylose is excited to have Terra Firma as our new US construction distribution partner,” said Ben Johnson, SE Tylose North American sales manager for construction. “Their vast experience, combined with their knowledge and understanding of the construction market, will strengthen and improve our market share.”
“Given our expansive history with chemistry for rheology modification, and more specifically SE Tylose’s core technologies and expertise, we couldn’t be more excited to work with them and their tightly focused plans for continued hypergrowth,” said William Chestnutt, Terra Firma’s president. “Every supplier decision we make is based on our desire to work with world class companies who invest heavily in bringing solutions to our valued customers.”
