Omya recently announced that it is increasing prices for its calcium carbonate products globally, beginning April 1, 2021, or as customer contracts allow. The company reports that the price increase is necessary due to escalating chemical raw materials, freight, and energy costs globally, as well as inflation.
"In spite of our efforts in controlling costs through continuous process improvements, we are unable to absorb the impact of the increased costs that we are currently experiencing," said Philippe Philippe Quéméner, executive vice president Operations, responsible for the global procurement activities within Omya.
