As part of its centenary celebrations and 2036 vision, Scott Bader has partnered with World Land Trust (WLT) to offset its global carbon emissions. Its investment of over £50,000 (approximately $70,700) with WLT's Carbon Balanced program will allow Scott Bader to offset its global carbon dioxide emissions in 2020 through the protection and restoration of carbon-rich habitats and prevent the release of CO2 into the atmosphere. In doing so, the company will address climate change and help secure critically threatened habitat for wildlife.
During 2020, WLT offset a total of 43,773 tons of CO2 through supporters of its Carbon Balanced program. That is the equivalent of taking 20,754 average UK cars off the road for a year. Scott Bader has committed to offset its carbon emissions every year moving forward as part of its Ecology pillar. The three pillars of Business, Ecology, and Humanity combine to form Scott Bader's 2036 vision of becoming a fully sustainable company.
"Our work with WLT is another step towards achieving our 2036 vision," said Kevin Matthews, CEO. "We are proud to have partnered with WLT to conserve, protect and restore land for wildlife, and offset our emissions as a Group. We continue to work towards a sustainable future for us all."
