The American Coatings Show and Conference returns to the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Ind., on April 5-7, 2022. Through the event’s conference and exhibition, coatings industry professionals from around the world will have myriad opportunities to learn about the latest technologies in raw materials for coatings and adhesives, processing and testing equipment, and environmental protection and safety, as well as a range of services. The event will also provide events and activities that enable attendees to safely network with peers and make new business connections.


Conference Offerings

Pre-conference tutorials will be held Tuesday morning. Given by industry and academic experts, these tutorials will cover topics such as “Rheology,” “Waterborne High-Performance Coatings,” “Polyurethanes,” “Functional Films,” “Formulating with Intelligence: Machine Learning in the Coatings Laboratory,” and more.

The conference will officially open with a noon Plenary Session on Tuesday, followed by a Keynote Address given by Chris Killian, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Eastman. He will discuss “The Role of Innovation in the Coatings Industry When Every Color Must be Green.”

Conference sessions are planned for each day of the event. Beginning Tuesday afternoon, attendees can explore a range of topics in four session tracks: Science Today, Coatings Tomorrow; Sustainability; Measuring and Testing; and Automotive Coatings.

Wednesday will offer eight separate tracks, four in the morning (Functional Coatings 1, Architectural Coatings 1, Epoxy Coatings, and Waterborne Coatings) and four in the afternoon (Functional Coatings 2, Architectural Coatings 2, Polyurethane Coatings, and Tools and Systems). The conference will close following Thursday morning’s tracks focusing on Biobased Materials, Weathering and Corrosion Testing, Protective Coatings, and Radiation Curing.


Exhibition Details

The show floor will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to use the interactive online floor plan to find specific exhibiting companies and their booth locations.

Live product presentations will enable attendees to see technologies in action on the show floor. In addition, an Industry Buyers Lounge will provide a specific area for attendees to meet with company representatives and gather additional details for a deeper understanding of the products they are interested in.

Show organizers have announced that a Powder Coatings Pavilion will make its debut this year. Attendees interested in learning more about available powder coatings technologies will be able to see all of these exhibitors in one convenient area.
