General Sealants manufactures sealants (e.g., silicone, polysulfide, polyolefin, polyacrylic, ethylene propylene), butyl tapes, mastics, and vacuum bag sealant tapes for industries such as transportation, construction, electrical, and industrial manufacturing. Patrick Boyle, president and chief operating officer, expects the company’s R&D spending to increase in 2022. It “remained relatively constant” in 2021.
According to Boyle, the company’s sales increased by approximately 9% in 2021. He reports that sales in the first quarter of 2022 were 13% higher than the same period in 2021 and are expected to “remain strong for the remainder of 2022.”
