The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) is offering two technical short courses that will be co-located with the 2023 Annual Convention, which is taking place April 17-18, 2023, at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Caulks & Sealants Short Course and Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Short Course, taught by industry experts, will be offered.
ASC’s two-day Caulks & Sealants Short Course will help attendees gain a better understanding of the functions and applications of caulks and sealants. The course is designed for professionals working with manufacturers, suppliers, and end-user companies as well as design-engineering professionals. A basic chemistry background is assumed; however, no advanced knowledge is required. This course is ideal for people in RD&E, application engineers, technical sales and service professionals, architects, specifiers, project managers, and people in sales and marketing roles.
The two-day Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Short Course provides an in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals and latest developments for pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs). The course covers formulation strategies, based on application and performance requirements. Attendees will learn how polymers, plasticizers, tackifiers, and other additives are used for optimized processing and enhanced properties. They will learn about the current methods of characterization, including rheology, tack/shear test methods, and details of PSA production. Innovation and sustainability efforts in PSA technology will also be discussed.
