The Bodo Möller Chemie Group has acquired the Portuguese distributor Anmapi, LDA. In doing so, the Offenbach-based supplier of specialty chemicals expands its own branch network on the Iberian Peninsula and, with Anmapi, acquires an established and experienced Henkel partner. With the acquisition, Bodo Möller Chemie expands its partnership with Henkel in the area of Bonderite® cleaners and corrosion-protection products for the metal industry in Southern Europe. Anmapi has customer relationships that have grown for decades, as well as an expertise in surface technology, and is considered a Bonderite specialist.
“By taking over Anmapi, we significantly expand the European business of our group and, moreover, acquire a partner that can be regarded as a true asset for us in Bonderite application know-how. While we have built up the loyalty to Henkel and other manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe, Anmapi has taken over this task since its foundation in Portugal in 1999,” said Frank Haug, chairman of the board of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group.
Expansion of the Product Portfolio in Portugal
“The Bodo Möller Chemie Group has an outstanding reputation and, like our company, is a link between manufacturers and users, it offers its own laboratories and helps the industry in a decisive way to make the right selection and optimally process the products. Thus, we are proud to be a strong community now and to represent the name Bodo Möller Chemie here in Portugal in the future,” said António Freitas, the founder of Anmapi.
From Porto, the new Portuguese subsidiary will also distribute–apart from the Bonderite and Loctite® product lines from Henkel–industrial adhesives made by Huntsman and 3M, technical textile and thermoplastic solutions from Porcher Industries, mixing and application solutions from Medmix, as well as pigments from Merck in the future.
Close Cooperation with Bodo Möller Chemie Spain
The Bodo Möller Chemie Group already established a subsidiary in Spain in 2020. With the recent acquisition of the Spanish distributor General Adhesivos and the merger with Anmapi, the group is now represented on the Iberian Peninsula with offices in Madrid (Spain), Alforja (Spain), and Porto (Portugal), as well as with three local warehouses in Alforja, Barcelona, and Porto.
