Sales of newly built, single-family homes rose to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 692,000 units in March 2019 after a slightly revised February report, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau.
Looking at the three-month moving averages for regional HMI scores, the Northeast posted a three-point gain to 51, the Midwest increased two points to 53, and the South was up one point to 67.

Builder confidence in the market for newly built single-family homes rose one point to 63 in April, according to the latest National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).
This is a good question for two reasons: first, adhesives and sealants often have to fill large irregular gaps and expansion on curing enables them to achieve this; and second, the products usually shrink on curing.
All of the major HMI indices posted declines in November 2018.
