The Associated Press reports
that a federal judge has approved General Motors’ plan to sell the bulk of its
assets to a new company - a move that could help speed the automaker’s exit
from bankruptcy protection.
The Business Review (Albany) reports that agents of New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) executed a search warrant at Momentive Performance Materials’ Waterford, NY, plant on June 30.

OMNOVA Solutions Inc. reported net
income of $5.1 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, for the second quarter, which ended May 31, 2009,
compared to a net loss of $3.1 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2008.
