In May of 1940, the
process
allowing for the industrial production of silicones was developed by a
research
chemist at General Electric Company (GE) Research Laboratory.
The custom-built plant will
manufacture sealants and adhesives for the burgeoning insulating glass
(IG),
solar photovoltaic, structural glazing, and transportation markets in
the Far East.

The award was presented to PSG Frost & Sullivan’s 2010 Excellence in
Industrial Technologies Awards banquet, which was held on April 29 in
