Almost two-thirds of Americans say they opposed the near shut-down of the U.S. EPA as part of the government shutdown, according to a new poll commissioned by the Natural Resources Defense Council. They perform an important function if done right but they are not primary such as the military.

There's nothing extraordinarily special about the EPA. Even when the government is open for business, EPA doesn't seem to do an effective job!

The EPA should have been shutdown permanently.
