How about first asking the question: What is crowdsourcing?? Never heard of this and am not familiar with Kickstarter (isn't that a part on a motorcycle?)
 
I do like the idea of crowdfunding.

Those platforms for the creative arts (i.e. Kickstarter) are great - no harm in donating to the arts. I work as an analyst on private and public equity investments, and I consider the platforms for business start-ups to be a wonderful medium to exploit the ignorance of the masses. To get money from people who know little about diligence related to the capital raising process. Glad to see the SEC is stepping in to provide some oversight and require a formal disclosure process.
