Wisconsin will soon begin drug testing welfare recipients. Last week, we asked if you thought this is a good idea.

Overwhelmingly respondents replied, “Yes.” Only 13% said they were unsure about such a policy.

One reader commented, “They should be under the same rules as the working public.”

Another participant said, “Unfortunately, there is significant welfare fraud and that includes welfare recipients who use taxpayer dollars to support a drug habit. This type of testing should be mandatory in all states.”

Other comments included: “If they are receiving welfare then they should be drug-free. It should be mandatory.”
