Cloverdale Paint is partnering with Celanese Corp. to leverage its carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technology to provide Cloverdale with new-to-market, sustainable paint solutions.

Chemical and specialty materials company Celanese Corp. confirmed last week that the force majeure declared for acetic acid and vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) sold in the Western Hemisphere has ended. 

As part of the agreement, Eastman will retain ownership of its plasticizer business at the site, which INEOS will operate for Eastman.

Last week’s announcement from Celanese that it is considering facility closures in France and Spain garnered a lot of interest.
