DELO-DUOPOX FR898 is a new, two-component adhesive that is reportedly self-extinguishing and has a very low burn time. Designed for use in switches, connectors and relays for electronics, as well as in electric motors for mechanical engineering, this adhesive reportedly adheres well to plastics, metals, and electronic components. It can be used in the oil and mining industries, where hazardous materials are found.

This adhesive incorporates flame-retardant fillers; should fire come in contact with the adhesive surface, these fillers reportedly form a foam layer, thermally insulating the plastic from the flame. An additional insulating layer covers the surface so that it cannot be touched by the flame, protecting the component.
