DuPont recently announced that, through its AHEAD™ (Accelerating Hybrid-Electric Autonomous Driving) initiative, it showcased solutions that address desired attributes at The Battery Show and Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo in Stuttgart, Germany, May 7-9. Drivers for reliable and efficient e-mobility reportedly include lightweighting, thermal management, safety, NVH (noise, vibration, and hardness), vehicle structure/durability, sensing, control, and connectivity.
“Continuous dialogue, collaborative thinking and the passion for creating great things together, is what drives us at DuPont,” said Eugenio Toccalino, global marketing director for DuPont Transportation & Advanced Polymers. “Our AHEAD initiative has provided a unique opportunity to harness the expertise of the entire DuPont organization to bring our best thinking and advanced materials to the e-mobility market. Together with existing and new customers, we are continuing to innovate for this growing and thriving segment.”
DuPont reportedly focused on three key areas at the show:
- Battery pack assemblies—including a full-scale prototype; battery modules; and thermal interface material demonstrator highlighting plastics, adhesives, films, electronic components, cables, and connectors
- Electrical/electronics—featuring solutions for power electronics, electric motors, transmission control units, sensing, and connectivity components
- Infrastructure—solutions for charging units
